unraveling the mystery of lyme disease

We are no longer accepting proposals to present at the Workshop.

Here are some things to know about the NW Lyme Patient Workshop:

  • Our vision is to create ease toward pathways to knowledge and understanding about lyme disease.
  • Our mission is to put the power into the individual’s hands.
  • Our workshop's theme is “unraveling the mystery of lyme disease.”

Everyone is invited to present, including "experts," researchers, patients, practitioners, caretakers, and so forth. The Workshop will be located in the Hemmingson Center - Ballroom, Gonzaga University, 702 E Desmet Ave, Spokane, WA 99202. The workshop will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and all presenters must be available to present sometime between 11 a.m.-3:35 p.m. Approved presenters will receive their time slot approximately two weeks before the Workshop.

Breakout sessions will last 45 minutes, including Q&A time. To allow for questions and comments, please plan on presenting for no more than 35 minutes. Presenters may use slides, handouts, or other materials. Please bring electronic presentations on a jump drive/USB drive.

Although there is no limit to the breakout session topics, here are a few ideas:

  • nutrition
  • detox
  • how to support family members with lyme
  • lyme in children
  • breaking down co-infections
  • general knowledge about recovering from lyme disease and/or navigating through the medical system
  • how to journey through the illness emotionally, relationally, and/or psychologically-speaking
  • general chronic illness topics

Presenters do not need to have a connection to lyme disease to present at the Workshop, although we do expect all presenters to agree that chronic lyme disease exists. In addition, presenters do not need to live in the Eastern Washington-Idaho-Montana region. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to pay for travel and lodging expenses for our presenters.
Presenters may team up to speak on a topic. Given the time constraints, though, we suggest no more than two presenters to a team.
Individuals/teams may submit more than one presentation proposal, although we will give to preference to accepting as many different speakers as we can.
If you have any questions about the presentations or the viability of a topic, please do not hesitate to contact us at: info@nwlymepatientworkshop.com
